Is there an RT-ll to unix program that will let me read from an RT-ll 8" floppy disc on a unix system? Any information appreciated. Ray Benash

The floppy drive on the 11/780 is a RX01, so you can only read RX01 formatted (single density) disks on it. (You can write single density disks on a RX02.) Also, the RT11 file structure is what is used on the 780's console floppies, so any programs that you would have to use the console floppy should be set up for RT11 files. [Sacrifice top~ line-eating Ghod] I wrote a program to read RT-11 floppies on an 11/70 running PWB with a pair of RX-01s. We have since converted to System V on our 11/70 and I haven't tested it yet. If there is interest, contact me at the address below. We have transferred files from RT-11 floppies to UNIX with no problems. The floppies were originally written using an RX02 drive on an LSI-11 system. Larry Meehan Indiana University C.S.
