The following is the binary executable file for a program called buf128.exe, which increases your typeahead buffer to 128 bytes. Cut at the line and run through uudecode(1), then use binary download to snarf the executable to a PC. ----------------------------------- cut here --------------------------------- begin 644 buf128.exe M35H ( @ __\@ ( M M M M M M M M M M M #ILP$ M M M M M M P # /J<FH?I /!3!KM ([#)HL>&@ F.QX< '0X)HD>' FBQ]6 M+HLV!0%6@\8"@?X# 7(#O@, +CLV P%>=!0NB1R#Q@*!_@,!<@.^ P NB38% M 5X'6\_["N1T"?[,=#'^S'1!S_N0^BZA P$N.P8% 73R4XO8+HL'@\,"@?L# M 7(#NP, +CL>!0$NB1X# 5O/^E,NBQX# 2X['@4!+HL'6_O* @ &N$ CL F MH!< !\_ZN CL FQP8D <!)HP.)@ FQP98 %P!)HP.6@ NQP8# 0, +L<& B!0$# /O&!@$ )QZZ !2NK8"RP N end

<> I believe the referenced posting (a 128-byte typeahead buffer for the PC) is the one that comes with DeSmet C. I seem to remember reading the source at one time and noting that it does a hard jump into ROM, which would seriously impair compatibility (have not tried it with my Compaq). I had also assumed it to be proprietary... By the way, does this belong in net.sources or in net.micro.ibm? I would imagine net.sources is best reserved for UNIX and generally- applicable C stuff. Which is the appropriate place? D Gary Grady Duke University Computation Center, Durham, NC 27706 (919) 684-4146 USENET: {decvax,ihnp4,akgua,etc.}!mcnc!ecsvax!dgary
