For people who are interested in mathematical software available on the nets....... LOTS of math software is available over ARPANET, CSNET, Telenet, and Phonenet. Currently available software includes LINPACK, EISPACK, TOEPLITZ, stuff from MINPACK, stuff from QUADPACK, ...., ...., ..... Get the picture? To get an index of stuff available type (if your running UN*X) mail research!netlib send index on ARPA: mail netlib@anl-mcs send index Requests have the following syntax: request line: send <names> <exclusions> <libraries> send only <names> <libraries> exclusions: but not <names> libraries: for <names> from <names> where <names> is a list of words separated by blanks. Examples: send index for toeplitz send dqags but not dqag from quadpack That's it. The service is called NETLIB and is provided by Argoone National Lab (I think). Much more I don't know. Good Luck!
