[net.sources] ARC Archiver for MS-DOS

10409813%WSUVM1.BITNET@WISCVM.WISC.EDU (01/25/86)

Could someone out there in NETland please send me a copy of 'arc' from
System Enhancement Associates. Since it is a 'FREEWARE' sort of product,
I would like to get the source code, but would settle for a 'uuencode'd
.EXE file. For those of you who don't know, ARC is an archive program
written for MS-DOS which also does file compression as it archives.
If this program has never been posted on the NET, perhaps someone
could arrange for it to be.

Thanks in advance,

Eric Schneider 10409813@wsuvm1.bitnet

The latest version of the ARC program is 5. It can be downloaded from several
FIDONET nodes around the country. I keep copies of the executable and
documentation in ARC5.LBR on both FIDONET nodes that I operate. If there is
enough interest in posting a uuencoded copy of the library, I will get in
touch with the authors and if they are amenable, I will post it.

ARC 5.00 is available from many of those same bbs.

I have spoken with the author of the ARC utility.
He has no objection to having the utility distributed
via net.sources, do I will take care of it this evening.

	Kurt
