First off, apologies to those who know this posting doesn't belong here, but note followups go to net.sources.d Attention all those who post requests for sources to net.sources ... PLEASE post your request in net.wanted.sources, where they belong. Attention all those who want to report bugs, fixes, and the like ... PLEASE post instead to net.sources.bugs or other more appropriate area. In general, you should look at the list of news categories, and at the nature of your posting, and post to the ONE category that most closely fits your posting. Why, do you say? Well, many sites archive net.sources, and have to go through and manually remove your improper posting, for one thing. And a suggestion on your interminable requests for repostings ... if your site missed posting 5/6 on the latest version of snazzo.c, first try to contact other nearby sites to see if they have it. Probably someone in the area archives such things; your system administrator can contact neighboring sites to see which ones archive what categories. If your system admin. is too busy, try sending mail to userid usenet at your immediate neighbor sites, preferably upstream from yours, as if your site missed it, downstream probably did too. If that route fails, then make a posting to net.wanted.sources, with Distribution for your city (for help here, see the sys. admin. again, or /usr/lib/news/distributions). Give that a few days, then gradually move outwards in distributions. And I would suggest that before you use Distribution: net that you try sending mail directly to the original poster of snazzo.c. Why all these steps, you ask? It only takes a few seconds to send you piddly request! Well, multiply those few seconds by the number of sites you'll be contacting, and you've run up quite a phone bill! Thanks for your cooperation. I'd like to see the quality of postings to net.sources approach that of mod.sources, without having to have a moderator to keep out all those poor postings. -- Dave Buck ihnp4!amdahl!dlb!dave (408)972-2825 D.L.Buck&Assoc.,Inc. 6920 Santa Teresa Blvd. San Jose, Calif.95119
