Just to reassure everyone--Belle has indeed been sprung and has been safely back at Murray Hill since Monday afternoon. It would be unwise for me to go into the politics of the whole fiasco. Suffice it to say, in defense of the Customs Service, that they were less worried about the Soviets widening the Chess Gap than the presence in the shipment of a PDP 11/23, a Micropolis disk, and an HP 2621 terminal.
