[net.chess] Computer Chess Digest Annual

mclure@SRI-UNIX@sri-unix (12/07/82)

The Computer Chess Digest Annual just came out, a booklet describing
the various commercial chess machines. In the back there's a chart
listing various attributes and estimated ratings based on some lengthy
round robin tournaments among the machines and the various ratings
attained by some of the machines in human tournaments, discounting some
of the more inflated ratings based on inadequate number of games awhile
back.

Dr. Irazoqui estimates the ratings as follows:

	Prestige	1930
	Elite 1850
	Mephisto	1820
	Sensory C. 9	1760
	Conchess	1720
	Champion	1670
	Mark V 1670
	GGM 1630
	Savant 1630
	Prodigy 1600

Some interesting Prestige games were played at the recent U.S. Open:
