[net.sources] Looking for CAD tools

schoet@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU (Steve Schoettler) (03/20/87)

I am looking for PD CAD tools, especially circuit board routing tools.

I heard someone at University of Wisconsin has been working on such
a set of tools that include schematic editing and simulation. Can anyone
point me in the correct direction?
Or, if you know of any similar packages, please let me know by e-mail.

The tools do not need to be PD, but they MUST come with sources.

 Thanks in advance,

 Steve Schoettler

We have 'pcb', a circuit board editor working under X. We got it
from CMU, ported it to X, added the ability to do more than two layers,
and cleaned up the router.

We could distribute it "provided that no commercial interests are involved
and that the copy-right notices are not removed from the program sources."

Reply to me directly if you are interested, and I will get you further details.

In a similar vein, does anyone have CAD tools for mechanical engineering
applications? Preferably things that work on a PC running AUTOCAD.
