In response to the "FERD" award given to Natassia Kinski a while back- For the worst editing job done to a tv special, the winner is... CBS for their inexcusible chop job done on "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" In order to fitt all their commercials in, they totally cut out the song, "We Are Santa`s Elves!" After Rudolph and Hermy arrive safely back at Santa`s workshop, they deleted the part where Hermy was given his job back and allowed to open a dentist office. For the worst editing job done to a movie, the winner is ...... WGN-TV, channel 9 in Chicago. When showing the John Wayne movie, "THE GREEN BERET", they chopped out bits and pieces of dialouge, and in some spots entire scenes. This was on late on a Saturday night, with commercials every 10-15 minutes for car dealers and the like. I had planned on recording the movie, but even if I hadn`t tried, I was thoroughly disgusted.
