RE: Liszt, The Lone Ranger and Rossini again ---------------- Almost everyone who has listened to the radio and TV broadcasts of 'The Lone Ranger' knows that the program's major theme was taken from Rossini's 'William Tell Overture.' A more obscure observation I have made and wish to verify is that many of the programs also contained music taken from the last dozen or so measures of Franz Liszt's 'Les Preludes'. Can anyone support my memory on this? MEL ihuxp! tfilm ---------------- Yes, I know that the early Flash Gordon series made extensive use of 'Les Preludes', but that was not my question. I believe that there were at least 8 to 10 measures from the last several dozen in the work somewhere in the 'Lone Ranger' programs. I seem to remember the music was injected at the time the Ranger was culminating a chase.
