Reading about Survivors reminded me of a series I saw in England
many years ago (10-15 ?). The theme of the series was a team of
disaster specialists saving Britain (and the world) from a series
of nasty ends (germs, poisons etc.). I think the title had the
word 'doom' somewhere in it and a particular characteristic of the
series was its gruesome reality. The one episode I remember best
was about giant (2ft long) warfarin resistant rats which were
busily eating all and sundry, there was a particularly realistic
scene of a half-eaten horse which was shown in full detail and
shocked many people considerably. Does anybody else remember this
series and has it ever been shown here ? It was not one of those
high-tech, superman-like series and its trade mark was believable
disasters and remedies. I think that maybe in the end they came
across one disaster too many and could do nothing about it but
that may be my imagination working memory tricks again !
