Are there any other animation fans or members of C/FO (the Cartoon/Fantasy Organization) on the net? Are you interested in discussing favorite topics? If so, does this discussion belong in net.tv, net.movies, or net.sf-lovers (most of my favorite animated shows/movies are science fiction). To start a (possibly flaming) discussion, I'd like to propose the following question to all - Why is animation regarded in the U.S. as a medium only suitable for children's programs? This does not appear to be true in other countries. It is not just an economic question. High costs here may explain why no high quality animation is being made in this country but does not explain the conversion of foreign adult shows to childrens programs in translation because "if its animated it must be for kids". Mary Anne Espenshade p.s. Has anyone out there seen the new Nelvana movie Rock and Rule yet? I know it's been released but it hasn't gotten to the Baltimore/D.C. area.
