Recently, after posting a question to the net about a couple of old TV shows and talking to a fellow worker about said shows, I was seized with an impulse to get a directory of old television shows when in the local bookstore (dangerous things, those impulses). Anyway, the book I got was "The Complete Directory to Prime Time Network TV Shows: 1946-Present" by Tim Brooks and Earle Marsh. About 1000 pages. Price -- $12.95. If you're into this sort of thing, it's absolutely fasinating!! I highly recommend it!! Good reference book. The book is arranged in alphabetical order by television show titles. A typical entry lists the: Title, type of show, First telecast date, Last telecast date, Broadcast history (time slots & networks), cast, and plot synopsis (which is usually 1/2 column to 1 page long). In the back of the book they have a number of appendices, including weekly prime time schedules from 1946 to 1981. When I got home from the store, I looked up the shows I originally had questions on. Then I went to the time schedules and started doing this sort of trip: Oh, yeah. I remember that one (turn, turn, turn). Or what about...(turn, turn, turn). Or how about...(more turning). Laugh In? The Monkees? Dr. Kildare? The Second Hundred Years? Valentine's Day? Room 222? Lost in Space? Hank? Shindig? Coyboy in Africa? Daktari? On, and On, and On...... I didn't put the book down for an hour and a half! Well, enough rambling. Happy watching, Walt Tucker Tektronix, Inc.
