[net.tv] Old Short-lived series of the 1960's

When I was very young, I seem to remember two short-lived series (I think
only one season; It could have also be a summer season) that were spoofs
on the super-hero type of shows (i.e. - Superman, Green Hornet, Batman, et
all) that were popular at the time.

I believe the shows occured somewhere in the 1962 to 1965 time frame. If
I remember correctly, one was called "Mr. Terrific" and the other was
"Captain Nice". These were not Saturday morning shows but were on
during prime time. I also seem to remember Barbara Feldon as having a
role in CN.

Can anyone fill me in on these shows? How about other shows between
1960 to 1965 that fall into the same Genre?

On other trivia, can anyone name actors that emerged as prominant
personalities in the seventies after starting as unknowns and
starring in prime time series roles in the sixties. Two examples:

Bruce Lee (star of 70's Kung Fu films) played the servant Kato in
  the Green Hornet series.

Avery Schriber (of Burns & Schriber) often played the villian (can't
remember his name) in "My Mother, the Car".

Any others? How about other short-lived series that didn't make it
into syndication ? Rota (Rhoda?) the Robot (on the same night as Mr. Ed)?

I think your time frame is a little too early. Batman was later on in the
decade. It was definitely on in 66, and possibly 67. I dont think it ran
for more than two or three years, which would have it starting in about
1964 or 1965.

You are correct on all counts. Mr Terrific, in reality a Gas
Station attendant by the name of Stanley Bemish, obtained super
powers by taking a "power pill". This power pill would last for 1 hour,
and of course, always ran out at the most amusing times (mid flight,
during fights etc..). This power pill cost $3 billion, but there were
booster pills (10 minutes) costing only $500 million. Captain Nice wasnt
nearly as funny, as he obtained his super powers by drinking a "super
juice" that smelled like Hamburger. I though I was the only one who
ever heard of these shows !
