For twenty points and a wake up call at 7AM Saturday morning, answer the following important questions about our favorite moose: 1) What are the complete names of Rocky and Bullwinkle? 2) What is the name of Boris's lovely(?) cohort? 3) What is Boris's last name? 4) What is Boris's boss's name, and nickname? 5) Where do Rocky and Bullwinkle live? 6) Where is Boris from? Bonus questions: 7) What is the name of Dudley Dooright's horse? 8) Who is the narrator for Fractured Fairy Tales and what TV show did he have a part in? 9) Who invented the way back machine?

I have a few answers to the Bullwinkle trivia questions recently posted: 1. Rocky's full name was Rocket J. Squirrel and I believe Bullwinkle's full name was Bullwinkle Moose. 2. Boris' female sidekick was named Natasha (sorry, I don't recall her last name). 3. Boris' last name was Badenov (as opposed to the famous Boris Godunov). And now, for the Dudley Do-Right trivia: 7. Dudley's horse was merely called "Horse". 8. The narrator for "Fractured Fairy Tales" was the late Edward Everett Horton (sorry, I don't recall the TV show he was in). 9. The precocious cartoon dog, Mr. Peabody, invented the Wayback Machine. I remember watching these cartoon shows as a kid and not really seeing much humor in them (save for the characters' funny voices, which I like to imitate!). Watching them now lets you see that they were really very satirical of soap operas, politics, Nelson Eddy-Jeanette MacDonald movies, etc. They were pretty clever (and really funny) cartoons, which were pretty scarce at that time. By the way, who was the famous radio and TV actor who narrated the Rocky and Bullwinkle adventures? (I guess it's true that trivia spawns more trivia!) Bob Paveleck ihldt!paveleck

She was Natasha Fatal, pronounced FahTAHHL

The narrator of the Fractured Fairy Tales was also on Dennis the Menace for a while as "Mr. Wilson", wasn't he? (I'm definately not positive about that one, folks.) Jim McParland AT&T Information Systems - Holmdel, NJ harpo!hou5e!jjm

Bullwinkle's full name was Bullwinkle J. Moose. All the characters in the series had a middle initial of J! (Do you know why?) And, of course they lived in Beautiful Frostbite Falls, Minnesota, home of what famous institute of higher learning? By the way, who was the famous radio and TV actor who narrated the Rocky and Bullwinkle adventures? (I guess it's true that trivia spawns more trivia!) William Conrad, of course. Do you know what other famous voices he did? -paul asente (decvax, ucbvax, allegra)!decwrl!asente

Hans Conried, the narrator of Fractured Fairy Tales, was Uncle Tonouse on the Danny Thomas Show. He also has had many other small continuing rolls on other shows, but I cannot remember any right now. Certainly this is his best known character.

For those of you who were old radio listeners (I am quoting my dad, because I was not one of them), William Conrad was the voice of Marshall Mat Dillon on the radio version of GUNSMOKE. I don't recall any other cartoons where he was the voice of a character. ...Dick Goon (...!decvax!genrad!grkermit!dickg) [UUCP].

Edward Everett Horton was the narrator, it even says that when the witch (fairy?) opens the book. Sorry about that, OZ

Edward Everett Horton (related to Mark?) narrated Fractured Fairy Tales on the Rocky and Bullwinkle show, NOT Mr. Wilson or Hans Conreid. Horton also appeared as an Indian (Hekawi) in the early episodes of "F Troop".

Another of the voices on Rocky and Bullwinkle, and some of the other associated shows was Hans Conreid. He also hosted a show in the late 50's or 60's called Fractured Flickers. In this show, old clips from silent movies had new voice tracks put in by the whole Rocky and Bullwinkle voice crew (E. E. Horton, Conreid, et al.), which completely changed the story. One real good one was the changing of Blood and Sand (silent version) into the story of a life insurance salesman (believe it or not!). These are shown occasionally on one of my cable channels (HBO, Cinemax, or Showtime). Bob Schleicher Bell Labs, Naperville, Ill. ihuxk!rs55611

Frostbite Falls, Minn. was the home of Wassamotta U. (spelling?) (remember the football game between Wassamotta U and Boris' team (supposedly all women), the Mud City Manglers?) Bob Schleicher Bell Labs, Naperville, Ill.

#R:houxe:-15300:tekcad:11500007:000:266 tekcad!franka Aug 26 08:43:00 1983 The two characters had the middle initial "J" because the creator of the concept orproducer of the series or something like that had the first name "Jay". I think it was Jay Ward or something like that. Just remembering old trailers hazily, Frank Adrian
