[net.tv] Hit TV Themes

edward@utcsrgv.UUCP (Edward Hsing) (08/23/83)

A few other themes that come to mind are:

	9 to 5
Baretta (Eye on the Sparrow)-not a big hit mind you

Now for a trivia question...

Can anyone name the only theme of a TV GAME show
to be a number one hit?

(My apologies if there are more than one
but I doubt if that'll be necessary.)

The theme song to the old Match Game was a big hit circa 1962.
I think the name was The Mighty Jungle, or something like that.

Well I didn't get much of a response for my question of last week:

What theme for a TV game show was a number one hit?

The only correct response came from ** SJBerry ** who guessed
the show but not the name of the theme.

Just for the record the show was...... THE DATING GAME
and the name of its theme was......SPANISH FLY by Herb Albert and
						    the Tiajuana (sp?) Brass

Well since that one was too hard for most of you (or nobody cared, sniff sniff)
here's another question in the same vein that's a lot easier.

What theme for a TV soap opera was a number one hit?

Now this one's really easy.

Well we have some winners who correctly answered my not so skill
testing question:

What theme from a soap opera was also a number one hit?

Of course the answer is "Nadia's Theme" from "The Young and the Restless".
The winners were: **Walt Morris** and **Tom O'Connor** although I'm
sure there were others who also knew the answer and didn't bother to
reply.

Incidentally Tom O'Connor stated that the answer to my previous
question should have been SPANISH FLEA not FLY. I contend that
it is FLY not FLEA but I'm not absolutely sure. Can anybody
confirm either way?

One more point. I remember when the Young and the Restless theme
was played at the beginning of the show with someone singing lyrics.
Does anybody out there remember this?
