The Hawaii 5-0 theme was done by the Ventures, who have the distinction of having sold more albums than any other musical group ever. Or so I heard a year ago. Laura mentions the villain Simon Bar Sinister from Underdog. "Bar Sinister" is a term from heraldry that refers to a bar across the shield from upper right to lower left, and was used in medieval times as an indication of bastardry (you took the coat of arms of your father with a bar sinister). So we can translate Simon Bar Sinister into Simon the Bastard, which I always thought was a pretty clever thing to slip past the censors. I recall a Rocky and Bullwinkle show where they walked into a castle of Boris's and it was, of course, a trap. ROCKY: Golly Bullwinkle, there are bars on the doors, and the windows have grills on them. BULL: That's funny, I thought Bars and Grills were Taboo in these kiddy shows. ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE WALK PAST A SIGN IN THE PENTAGON THAT SAYS "MILITARY INTELLIGENCE" BULLWINKLE: Now THAT'S a contradiction of terms. OZ seismo!rlgvax!oz
