#N:uicsl:12200020:000:731 uicsl!twt Oct 6 19:37:00 1983 As long as we're on the subject of cartoons/old cartoons, does anyone remember Schmoo (I'm not real sure of the spelling), he had his own cartoon for a while and was with Fred and Barney for a while. He was white and could change shapes though he usually looked like a stuffed bowling pin. He was on M*A*S*H once, I think it was the episode where Klinger was trying to get Charles to finance his idea for a hoola hoop; Anyway one of Potter's relatives (Margaret I think) sent him one, it was inflatable and it was in his office. The real reason I brought all this up is because I've been looking for a stuffed or inflatable one. So I'd appreciate if anyone could let me know where I could find one. Thanks Mary

Schmoos were an Al Capp creation. They lived in the valley of schmoon, and made wonderful eating. You didn't have to kill them, if you looked at them hungry-like, they'd fall over dead for the joy of feeding you. They didn't have to be cooked, either; and they tasted like anything you wanted them to. Their whiskers made great toothpicks, and their eyes were perfect trouser buttons. There were no bones and no waste. They also were very lovable companions, which made it very sad when one died for you. However, another one would begin following you around very soon, to console you at the loss of your pet. The people of Dogpatch sealed off the valley of schmoon, to prevent the city-folk from taking all the schmoos to make sausages. The residents of Dogpatch decided that they could do without the benevolent and delicious company of the schmoos for the sake of the survival of the species. Its amazing what a person can find when they paw through their parents' library of old paperbacks. Ariel Shattan decvax!tektronix!tekecs!orca!ariels
