I saw Dr. Smith on Twilight Zone last night. He was a lawyer. He was advising his client against making a $500,000 bet that a fellow member of their club could not remain silent for a year. His client didn't take his advice, the other guy one the bet, and the client didn't have the money to pay off. Dr. Smith was disgusted. This is, no doubt, why he changed occupations, became neurotic, and wound up lost in space. :-) -- Jay Elvove CSC, Systems, U. of Md.

Jay: To top it off, Dr. Smith was also on another Twilight Zone playing a doctor of a woman who had recurring dreams about being in a morgue. He advised her she was nuts and the dreams were meaningless. When the dream trurned out to be a premonition, Dr. Smith became disgusted and must have turned to practicing law. :-) B. Walsh

After Dr. Smith was lost in space, he must have even become more disgusted, 'cause he left his body and jumped into the body of Lucifer, the Cylon series I robot appointed by the Cylon Imperious Leader (ha ha) to destroy the Battlestar Galactica. Tough luck, though, 'cause after a while Baltar was running the base ship. --greg
