I watched last night (as I will watch (more faithfully than usual) for the next twelve nights) and notced that the commercials were >unanimously< PSA's (public service announcements). There was not a SINGLE product-commercial on WTHR (Indianapolis) from 1:30 to 2:30 AM. Is this because the show was cancelled? I distinctly remember seeing commercials before (notably, Don of Don's Guns saying, "I don't want to make any money, folks... I just love to sell guns.") and can't quite understand this: a show with no visible means of support? -- allan pratt ...decvax!pur-ee!iuvax!isrnix!akp

#R:cornell:-564100:isrnix:14400007:000:741 isrnix!akp Nov 20 15:57:00 1983 Boy, talk about net.snobbery! Just because they don't have a uucp path, you think you can't communicate with your legislators! Remember USnail? Last resort, I know, but worthwhile -- avalanches of mail can be very effective -- witness Star Trek and (we hope) Overnight. You could probably send a letter to "<congressman's name>/U.S. Congress/Washington" and it would get there. For 20 cents, it's a bargain! (Do you know that many net postings cost more than that? Especially mail, when your system will call the next system (long-distance) as soon as it gets something bound for there. Some of us aren't rich/ambitious enough to have WATS lines or anything..) -- Allan Pratt ...{decvax, ucbvax, tektronix}!ihnp4!iuvax!isrnix!akp
