I saw an interview with Genie Francis on the tube a few months ago and she said she would be on the show for six weeks. Gloria Monty, the producer, wanted her on for 3 months but she didn't want her story line to drag on (Hooray!). I have been taping the show and catching up on the weekend so here goes: Laura was kidnapped by a Cassadine (sp?) and has been held prisnor on a Greek Island for "two years". She was kidnapped on the orders of Helena (the curse) Cassadine (Liz Taylor). But when her son? nephew? (they haven't been clear on what his relationship to the family is) see's Laura "he must have her"! Laura does a good job of resisting him, the more she says no the more he wants her and "loves her". One day he shows her a Port Charles newpaper that says Luke died in an avalanche so evidently she gives into him because he now refers to her as his wife. He is having her followed and has given orders to "grab her" and bring her back. His hired goon plans to grab her at Luke's swearing in as Mayor. An explosion post-pones the event. Meanwhile she is still following him around Port Charles unseen by anyone who would recognize her. She has had brief discussions with Blackie and Jimmy-Lee. At one point Leslie has the room in the hotel next to Laura's room but they conveniently miss each other. My guess is Leslie will see her first and her friends will think she has gone off into the deep end and have her committed. I hope I have not been too lengthy in my up-date. I'll keep ya posted if you want to her it!!!

It's Happened!!! Luke is in the Mayor's Mansion on the balcony, drinking champagne by himself, remembering his wedding day. All of the sudden he looks up and sees Laura walking around on the lawn below him. He runs through the house and out to the lawn and yells her name, she looks at him then turns away and sees the "evil" man that wants to kidnap her again and take her back to Greece (he is hiding in the bushes ready to grab her). When she sees him, she turns and runs into Luke arms.....end of Monday's episode.

I agree totally. When they play that song "Laura" (it's actually Think of Laura by Christopher Cross) and Luke and Laura make love those are some of the mushiest love scenes I have ever seen. I would have hoped that they could have been a little more original. Today's little thing with Laura and Holly was pretty good. When she went over to speak to Holly, everyone in the Student Center TV room knew exactly what she was going to say. --greg ...decvax!genrad!mit-eddie!gds

Well, it looks as though Tony Geary is indeed leaving the show at the end of his contract. He was on Entertainment Tonight last night (Monday, Dec. 12) and stated publicly for the first time, according to the interviewer, that his character on General Hospital is done with and it was time for him to do something else. Supposedly his contract is up in January, but I don't know how they are supposed to wrap him up, as Laura (Genie Francis) is scheduled to leave the show either this week or next. Also, was able to catch the show yesterday and Luke and Laura are in the Mayor's mansion alone after the reception that was held to introduce all off the Mayor's commissioners to the press. The greek (?) Stavros had planted two men in the mansion, one as the regular gardner's replacement and another as one of the caterer's helpers. They taped the back door so that it would open after it was shut for the night and then Stavros and his men sneak back into the mansion after everyone has gone home. Luke is just about to turn out the lights downstairs and go up to join Laura in bed when the electricity goes off in the whole house and Laura screams Luke's name. End of show for Monday. Today is going to be the day where they START wrapping up I think. But anyone who watches soaps knows how long it takes to wrap things up.

I'd love to have a net.tv.soaps! I'd hope the discussion could include day- time and nighttime soaps. Dallas, Falcon Crest, Dynasty, Knots Landing, Emerald Point fans unite! --greg ...decvax!genrad!mit-eddie!gds
