gottlieb@cmcl2.UUCP (Allan Gottlieb) (10/13/83)

I received the following notice:

I am writing to you on behalf of the 4th World
Computer Chess Championship. We are still in need of a
number of demonstration chessboard operators for the event.
As you may already know, the tournament will be held on
October 22-25 at the Sheraton Centre Hotel in New York City
in conjunction with the annual conference for the
Association for Computing Machinery.

For each round that one serves as a demonstration
board operator, he (sic) will receive his (sic) choice of
one day's free admission to the conference or $10. (or $60.
for all five rounds). Demonstration board operators will
also have the opportunity to play their own games with the
participating programs.

If you or someone you know would be interested in
doing this, please contact me or have them contact me right
away at the phone numbers given below.

	Thank you.
			Sincerely yours,
			Jeremy Graham

Does anybody out there have information about the 4th World Computer Chess
Championship presently being held in New York. So far, all I have heard is
that after 3 rounds Cray Blitz and Nuchess are undefeated. Belle lost to
Nuchess in the 3rd round, and apparently that is Belle's first lost ever to
another computer. I would be interested in hearing more about this game or
possibly even seeing the game score.
