[net.tv] buying TV's, and 'night court'

I went out and bought myself a new tv set last night, and I wanted to send
out a little note on it for people that might be considering one. I got (on
sale for $400) the montgomery ward (isn't plastic wonderful?) model 12965.
This is a 19" screen color TV that is built by Sharp for them. It is cable
and vcr ready, supports all 132 channels, and has a full remote capability.
One nice thing is that is supports a scan feature, so it will look for the
next tv channel and lock onto it for you. It is a very compact unit, with
all of the electronics behind the tube so that it is essentiall the same
size and the screen. The thing that really amazed me was the quality of the
picture, which I consider equivalent to that of the (much more expensive)
Trinitrons that I looked at. The saleman told me that it had a Trinitron
tube, however I don't know whether to believe him or not (it could very
easily). The receiver is very sensitive because I was able to watch a snowy
Sacramento station here in the San Jose area using a set of rabbit ears.
Two extremely nice touches after the fact: There is a full set of
schematics inlcuded, and they even included the batteries for the remote
unit (something very few companies remember nowadays). That just made a
good deal a little better, because it shows me someone cares. I would
highly recommend this set to anyone that is looking around (the normal
price is about a hundred higher, and worth it!)

One of the first shows I watched was 'night court' which i missed last
week. its cute. Real cute. It has potential, but it needs to work on it a
bit to get where it could be. If you like light fluff, and don't mind a few
outrageous assumptions (and bad jokes), its worth picking up.
