#N:uicsl:12200051:000:1006 uicsl!twt Feb 22 18:36:00 1984 The opening sequence of HSB is most Definitely CHICAGO. Just because they don't show the Sears Tower or John Hancock doesn't mean it isn't. The el trains are there, and the train shown from an air shot is the CNW (Chicago and Northwestern) coming into downtown from either the north or northwest burbs. Most of it is from the near west side (a charming neighborhood I worked in for four years.) Most tourists don't get to see the high-class near west side, and most city people (except the bums) avoid it. In the winter (when it got dark early), the boss didn't allow people to work overtime at night cause there were too many problems after dark. We even tried to walk to the train station in groups. The script itself is probably based on many different cities, but the opening is Chi-town. Chicago also has beaches, (many people go to the beaches, few people go in the water). And (correct me if I'm wrong), somewhere in my memory banks I seem to remember a black mayor in some episode. Mary
