Ever notice how there Can anyone answer these questions about the NBC chimes which are played between shows on NBC. 1) Why were the chimes first aired and originally after which show? 2) What musical notes do the chimes correspond to and what do they symbolize? While I don't know offhand when the NBC chimes were first used (the particular radio show, that is) their origin is easy. NBC was originally part of General Electric. The chime notes are for General Electric Corporation -- G E C. --Lauren--

I just (about two months back) saw a show on TV about the "Old Days" of network television. At one point they ran an old clip that played the chimes & some announcer (?) was singing "I love you" to the notes. I was in the process of changing channels, so I have no other details. ihnp4!ihuxl!esj
