[net.tv] 60's TV audio tape at Utah

By the way, I also plan to bring along a cassette of my old 60's TV
theme tape to the Utah conference. Back in the mid 60's, I started
(for no particular reason) taping the themes of many ordinary shows
that were running at the time. My friends thought I was crazy -- why
would anyone want to record such common stuff? To listen to the tape
now, however, brings back the memories. While many of the programs are
still around in reruns (who knew that "Gilligan's Island" would run
forever?) others are long gone in most or all markets, including:

Mr. Terrific, Captain Nice, The Invaders, Cool McCool, Milton the Monster,
The Amazing Three, Prince Planet, Marine Boy, Lost in Space (2 themes),
It's About Time (2 themes), Time Tunnel, Rango, Occasional Wife,
The Flying Nun, and many more.

I assume we can find a cassette recorder around somewhere. I recently
dragged out my master casette copy of the tape to make a new copy, and
found that significant sections had decayed (the oxide was missing!)
so there are some silent stretches in the tape. They are a little
annoying, but I do have the 1/4" reel-to-reel master around
somewhere, and I may find time to make a new cassette copy before
the conference. I would expect the 1/4" master to have survived the
years much better than the cassette copy.
