[net.tv] switching "reels"

The fact that the event is "notable" implies that such events do not
occur terribly frequently. It could happen either through loading
the wrong tape on the player or through improper programming of the
playback sequencing equipment. By the way, virtually all movies
broadcast over commercial networks and cable networks are already
on tape (for the commercial networks, usually 1 inch type C
these days, for cable usually C, but sometimes 3/4 inch U-MATIC).

Reel switching is something that KABC in Los Angeles is famous for along
other atrocities such as showing "Lawrence of Arabia" in a 90
minute time slot. This station seems to exclussively appeal to the
under 45 IQ crowd as anyone who has watched their Eyewitless News
would attest.
