I tell, that guy Dave Letterman just cracks me up!!! The other night he had this guy on, PEE WEE HERMAN. Pee Wee is not what I would call the most sane person, but yet he was rather funny... so, I got to wondering... Pee Wee will appearing in Carnegie Hall on June 20, and I was thinking of going... but, before I do, anyone out there in NETLAND heard of / seen of this guy before. I wanna know if I am going to be wasting money (I sort of like that green stuff). Please, if you got any info... reply ASAP!!! Secondly, has anyone out there ever had a letter read on Viewer Mail... do they tell you when they are going to read your letter (like send you a card telling you???). -- Robert Berlinger ...{philabs,cucard,pegasus,inhp4,rocky2}!aecom!naftoli "If you're not where you are, you're nowhere"

[] Pee Wee Herman is an underground legend. If you can get tickets, get them and go. The guy is wacky. Can anyone imagine Pee Wee Herman and Uncle Floyd on the same billing? Then, just for good measure, throw in Soupy Sales and Irwin Corey. T. C. Wheeler

xx <- two-footed bug stomp! Well, back when I used to receive HBO, they ran a special called the Pee Wee Herman show. Apparently Pee Wee Herman is sort of a local show broadcast out of LA (I could be wrong here) that is a spoof of all the old live kiddie shows (like Bozo, Sailor Bob, Captain Kangaroo, Mr. Rogers etc). There are a lot of supporting characters (one sort of a Fairy Godmother, one Postman, one sailor who acts like Popeye, etc). It was pretty insane, and the guy who plays Pee Wee does a good job as an obnoxious nerdy kid. As an aside, he has appeared on other shows, including Mork and Mindy (the one about Mindy's class reunion, and Mork goes back in time to see if things would have been better for Mindy had she never met Mork; Pee Wee played a really nerdy classmate of Mindy -- almost identically the same character as Pee Wee Herman). I would probably go see him, just for jollies, if it wasn't TOO expensive. Doug Burton ATT-CP Indianapolis inuxg!burton

A few months ago Pee Wee Herman and his repertory did a special on one of the cable movie networks (I think it was Cinemax). John Reubens, who plays Pee Wee, is also currently starring on Showtime in Faerie Tale Theatre's version of "Pinochio". Personally, I am not amazingly impressed with Pee Wee, but he could grow on me. -- Barry Margolin ARPA: barmar@MIT-Multics UUCP: ..!genrad!mit-eddie!barmar
