To the question , What Was Quincy's name? I read in the newspaper, a few weeks ago that Quincy was never given a first!!!

Quincy's first name is John. We found this out in one of the last episodes, where Quincy was debating whether to marry his girlfriend. He kept getting these flashbacks to his first wife lying in her hospital bed dying. In at least one of them she referred to him as John.

Now wait a minute! That's been one of my favorite trivia questions for quite a while. I didn't see the earlier question, but according to several TV Grab-Bag style columns I've seen, Quincy NEVER had a first name. In fact, the scriptwriters never even made one up (as opposed to never using it in a show). Anyone have definite info? -- Scott Turner

This was in the episode where he was pushing off getting remarried and flashing back to his last days with his first wife in the hospital as she was dying.
