If anybody is interested, I heard on the radio this morning (Thurs 8/16) that tonight's show IS live and that the producers sold it to many syndicated stations around the country. This is supposed to be the thing they announced they were going to do many moons ago. The ad I saw for our local stations said 8pm (central) tonight, but the guide in the paper says 7-9pm. Somehow, I think the only part worth watching will be from 8:45-9:00. -King ARPA:ables@ut-ngp UUCP:{ctvax,ihnp4,kpno,seismo}!ut-sally!ut-ngp!ables

(*+*+*+*) Actually, *some* of it was worth watching, but it was very poorly done television. They should of just shown the film of the salvage operation and forgot about opening the stupid safe. And you thought Howard Cosell was bad, I have never seen anyone screw up so much as George Plimpton. (GACK) They should have opened the safe a few nights ago and put it on videotape. Then they could of edited the tape and shown some of the soggy money they pulled out interweaved with the film of the salvage. The leader of the operation and his wife should have hosted the show (certainly not George). I think it would have turned out much better. As it was, the show was the (very well done) salvage film, interspersed with shots of this murky water with green lumps floating in it and Mr. P. asking stupid questions and generally making an ass out of himself. I still enjoyed the show. Ken N. ...!ucbvax!dual!qantel!ken _____
