[net.tv] Cable TV: Should I get HBO or Cinemax?

bytebug@pertec.UUCP (roger long) (10/30/84)

I'm about to move into an area with Cable television, and would like
some advice about which "movie" channel to get. I currently live in an
area without cable, and subscribe to an over-the-air service (SelectTV)
which fortunately is NOT one of the choices.

What is the difference between HBO and Cinemax? Is one "better" than
the other, or what does one offer that the other doesn't?

I generally prefer Cinemax (they are owned by Time-Life just like HBO).
Cinemax runs "first run" films just like HBO, but also runs more
older "classic" films than the "middle of the road" HBO...
