[Remember to open the sunroof BEFORE using the ejection seat, Michael] The voice used in the opening titles belongs to Richard Basehart (sp?) who played Quinton Knight, who started the Foundation and paid for KITT. It was used as a voice-over in the final scene of the pilot. I have also heard the voice of KARR before. Sometimes on Saturday morning cartoons and sometimes as a voice when foreign films are re-dubbed in English. I wish I knew who it was. \ | / \|/ ---*--- /|\ / | \ NOVA Scott Allen ATT-IS Orlando, Florida ..!abnjh!nova

The first time KARR was on, *I* thought the voice was Paul Frees, the voice of everyone from "The Millionaire" to Boris Badenov, the narrator of "Hardware Wars" and half the rides at Disneyland. I watched the end of the rerun of the episode to check, and it was someone I had never heard of (and whose name I have, alas, forgotten). I didn't see KARR's return, and don't know if they used the same voice. But the guy sure sounds a lot like Paul Frees, and y'all may be making the same mistake as I did. Mike

The voice of the car, I do believe, is the voice of William Daniels, also of St. Elsewhere. He was in 1776 too, as well as a whole bunch of other things.

For those of you who still can't place the voice (which doesn't sound ANYTHING like Paul Freas), the same actor: 1) Played Mr. Quantil from New Jersey (the accountant visiting the White House with his family) in "The President's Analyst." 2) Played Dustin Hoffman's father in "The Graduate". 3) Appears in a supermarket TV ad here in L.A. --Lauren--
