I wouldn't think that Dr. Craig would be leaving St. Elsewhere. In all the articles I've read about cast changes, none have mentioned the demise of Dr. Craig. Perhaps William Daniels is involved a little more at this time with his other role as a car. As a matter of fact, didn't I hear his voice on a cartoon lately...?

I read in the NY Times that he has been suffering from a bad back for the last few months. Also, he may be busy directing--he directed last night's episode. I noticed in the credits of the 12/12 episode that he directed
it. It seems that he is starting to both act in and direct
various episodes of St. Elsewhere along with Eric Launville (sp?)
who plays Luther on the show.
