[net.tv] STARCROSSED

Here's a nice little gem from the latest TV GUIDE. Thursday, 31 January, at
8:00 PM (EST), we are being treated to a made-for-tv movie called STARCROSSED.
The description is as follows:

An extraterrestrial (Belinda Bauer [where have I heard that
name before?] and an earthling (James Spader) are "Starcrossed"
lovers on the run, she from aliens (identical twins Ed and
	Roland Groenenburg), he from G-men.

Sound familiar? Another point for those truly original, creative fellows in
tv land. Didn't take 'em long, did it?

Actually, this wasn't too bad, though I'm getting very tired of MTV
photography appearing everyplace. John Sayles should probably look into a
case for copyright infringement, but beyond that...

"It's a job for YOU, Dangermouse..."
						"Oh, *good* old DM!"
	"...AND Penfold."
						"Oh, ick."

I watched this too, and its biggest appeal to me was recognizing all of the
Toronto locations used in the shooting. I don't expect this to excite
many people, though.

However, I did like the interaction between the two main characters in
Starcrossed better than in Starman. In Starman, the female character
seems to be there mostly as a foil for the alien - she isn't very
strong herself. Whereas in Starcrossed, it was the (alien) female
who had the special powers, and some strength of character.
