Reaching way back, I thought that the "Amos 'n Andy" show was pretty good. It was a lot like a precursor to the Honeymooners, with similar crazy schemes and even a lodge hall (The Mystic Knights of the Sea), all in a black setting. I have heard that this is not likely to be rerun because some of the black people in it are made to look like fools. Actually, the majority of all people on TV are made to look like fools. Ironically, when our society has advanced far enough to let this be rerun, it will probably indicate that racism is really dead and blacks have entered the "mainstream". -------------------------------- Alan Filipski, UNIX group, Motorola Microsystems, Tempe, AZ U.S.A {seismo | ihnp4 } ! ut-sally ! oakhill ! mot ! al -------------------------------- History is just a repetition of the past.

Actually, I saw some "Amos 'n Andy" episodes recently. I think they were shown on "Black Entertainment Television," a little known basic cable service, which frequently shows material that, if shown by anyone else, would probably be considered to be pretty anti-black. I guess this sort of material is now considered to be part of the historical heritage, regardless of its "taint." --Lauren--
