I wrote to the net a little while ago with this message: >From postnews Thu Feb 14 12:58:11 1985 >Subject: Re: Great Shows of the Sixties >Newsgroups: net.tv >References: > >From somewhere in the dark and distant part of my memory, a couple of words >seem to be emerging every time I see a Subject line containing the words: >Re: Great Shows of the Sixties. The words are "Hiram Holiday" (I think that >is right). I cannot remember if this tv program comes from this era or >whether it is from the fiftys. I can remember that it was a comedy program >about the exploits of Hiram Holiday, a short thin guy who wore glasses. I >think that he was usually dressed in a dark suit (we only had a b+w tv at >the time!). As I saw these programs in England, I guess that they were made >in America at an earlier time, that when I saw them. > >Has anybody any more info to enable me to lightup the dark parts of my >memory ? > >Thanks in advance. Well Walt Tucker @ Tektronic, Wilsonville OR. in his listings for: Re: Those Fabulous Fifties -- YAS (1954-1958) Had the following lines amonst a lot of others. > 1956 > ---- > > NBC ..... > ......Eddie Fisher Show Adventures of Hiram Holiday ...... My memory works!! It was in the Fifties, and as this was the only mention of it I am know wondering if it was only on for one season. I admit that in 1956 I was at age 1. So the programmes I saw were shown In England at a later date. Now it is established that the programme did exist, can anybody who rembers back that far, give me any additional information. Once again, Thanks in advance..... -- [ You called all the way from America - Joan Armatrading ] [ You're never alone with a rubber duck - Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy ] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ || From the keys of Richard Jeffreys ( British Citizen Overseas ) || || @ AT&T Bell Laboratories, Naperville, Illinois || ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ || General disclamer about anything and everything that I may have typed. || ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
