First, a correction. Gigantor was controlled by a remote control with two levers, not one as previously mentioned. Does anyone remember the pair of episode where, in the first one, evil, viscious thieves stole the PLANS for Gigantor, and set about building there own version. Gigantor spent the next 15 minutes defeating these devious fellows. In the second one, The same fellows built 1000 Gigantors, and the real Gigantor defeated them with ridiculous ease. For some reason, this didn't jive. Oh well... Next, Dark Shadows in shown in the NY/NJ area on Channels 50, 52 and 58 New Jersey Public TV at 6:30 Monday through Friday, and last time I checked, about 1 month ago, they were playing the dream curse sequence. I seem to recall that Gigantor had one lever and a similar looking nob from which the controlling radio waves emitted. Did you ever notice, however, that the boy always shouted what he wanted Gigantor to do while frantically pumping the lever? I'd like to suggest that this was the first example of an artificially intelligent, voice recognition system. The box was probably just a radio with a special signal scrambling unit. Could I repeat my suggestion to move DS discussion to net.tv.soaps, which is much emptier? A. G. Percus (ARPA) percus@acf4 (NYU) percus.acf4 (UUCP) ...!ihnp4!cmcl2!acf4!percus
