[net.tv] V

I saw V (the *Original*) this weekend. What I want to know is, are they
going to start the series at the end of this show (with Robin pregnant,
Donovan's kid on the mother ship, etc) or are they going to show V (the
Final Chapter, or whatever it was called) and start the series from
there?

First of all, there has already been a second movie. It ends with
Diana zooming away into space. Robin's surviving daughter (there
were twins, but I won't go into that. Send me mail if you want to
know more) looks like a human, but has a lizard tongue.

Here's what I read from the San Francisco Examiner. Robin's daughter
will come back about the same age as Robin. This will be explained as
being due to some kind of sped-up metabolism. They will both be
romantically involved with the same guy. There also was in a recent
issue of TV guide a small blurb showing two new characters. They
didn't say who they would play, but they look about the right age to
be Robin's daughter and their new boyfriend.

I thought this might be a good series, but this really sounds hokey.
I liked the two movies, although I thought the second one could have
been alot better. Isn't that always the way with sequels that are
made mainly because the first movie made alot of bucks?

I missed both "V" mini-series as well as the first episode, due to a lot
of things. I`ve recently bought the book, but haven't had a chance to
crack it yet. My questions?

1) Is this of sufficient interest and quality that it is worth trying to
catch up on? (note: tv sci-fi quality scale - "Star Trek" = 10,
"Lost in Space" = 1)

2) If the previous answer is yes, is there a better way to catch up then the
book, such as video tapes, repeats, etc.?

3) Is is necessary to fill in the background or can I jump right in cold?

Having just seen the final episode for the season for V I was
wondering if the show has been canceled. I always assumed that
it would be but it looks like they left themselves open for
more episodes just in case. Over the last few weeks it looks like they
have known the end was near and planned accordingly. Could someone who
keeps track of such things let me know what the story is.

Actually, it sure looks like they knew they weren't going to make it
through the first season, and thus either killed off a few main characters
or wrote them out of the script early(e.g. Elizabeth's grandfather, Ham,
etc.)

I thought that some of the actors realized that V was actually
doing their careers more damage than good and wanted out! :-)

Regarding the first posting, DC Comics is 'comictizing' V
and should the series be cancelled, they will resolve all loose ends
from the last episode.
