Since it is known that Patsy Mayo and Harry Garabaldi (and some others
as well) will not be back for the entire next season, I'd thought it
might be interesting to guess how they will meet their demise.
What I'd think might happen is that Harry will get into some unethical
situation (like the plagiarism in his law class, only bigger) and will
be forced by Captain Furillo to resign in disgrace.
I'd also like to see some followup to the Patsy and J.D. Larue (sp?)
tiff where J.D. not only allowed the video camera to run longer than
necessary while Patsy was being fondled (or whatever) by the perverted
dentist, but showed the video to guys around the station. So in some
undercover operation, J.D. get in deep trouble, and as Patsy flashes
back to her confrontation with J.D., he gets blown away. J.D. (although
I like his sleaze-bag character; remember the way he showed up at Renko's
wedding?) is certainly an expendable character. Patsy then has the
ultimate guilt trip and leaves police work.
One other person (who I've never seen on the screen) that I wouldn't
mind going away one way or another is Mick Belker's mother. The scenes
of him on the telephone saying "Hi Ma. No Ma. Yes Ma. (turns to suspect
and says) SIT DOWN DIRTBAG!" et. al., ad nauseum are getting tiresome.
If she would just die, the Mick could have another semi-breakdown and
then come back strong. And no more phone calls.
