Heard over NPR this morning that Miami Vice has garnered more Emmy nominations this year than anyone, beating Hill Street for the first time in HSB's history. I was rather disgruntled over this, as I consider MV's scripts inferior to those of HSB (especially in the dialogue dept.); however, read an interesting article in TV Guide which pointed out how well many MV episodes are choreographed to their soundtracks, until you get a series where as much attention is paid to the program, visually, as is paid to the script in most other excellent programs. In fact, how do you feel about the statement that Miami Vice is the most carefully-crafted visual television SERIES (not movie or special, but series) in the history of TV? Can you come up with one which pays as much attention to the way the images are juxtaposed, especially with the music? I'm curious to know if I've missed something which does it better... "Where are we going?!" "PLANET 10!!" "When are we leaving?!" "REAL SOON!!" Expect the Unexpected. He does. ---> Moriarty, aka Jeff Meyer John Fluke Mfg. Co., Inc.
