[net.tv] MTV Schedules?

howard@sfmag.UUCP (H.M.Moskovitz) (10/05/85)

I have a problem that I hope someone out there can help me with:

I recently attended a Stevie Ray Vaughan concert at the
Capitol Theater in Passaic, NJ. This concert was taped for MTV's
'Influences of Rock'n'Roll' series.
I wanted to tape this when it is broadcast. They said at the
show that it would be aired on October 3, but it wasn't and to my
dismay, I could not find any source that listed when MTV will play
ANYTHING. As far as I can tell, the only way to find this out is to
watch MTV continuously. I can't because I don't have cable TV.
Does anyone out there know either how to find out when this
stuff is going to be aired or do you know when this particular show
is to be aired (for real).

Thanks a million (and change) in advance.

For special events, you should be able to call MTV, Inc. in New York
City and ask them.

They may still have a (900) info number as well. Of course, you'll
never find out when particular (ordinary) videos will air, since
the last thing they want is for you to turn MTV on just for the
particular videos *you* want to see!

There is no such possiblity. I was in a band that had a video
in light rotation and we were unable to ever find out when it
was to be aired. My poor mother inundated herself with the likes
of Motley Crue, Quiet Riot, etc... in hopes of seeing her little
boy banging his head on a guitar. We had better luck with Night
Trax, Night Flight and others. Sorry.
