[net.tv] WKRP pilot question

After seeing the pilot episode of WKRP (where they switched formats) and
the episode where Venus, Andy, and mother Carlson  reminisced  about the
first  episode.  It seemed to me that they  refilmed the parts that they
reminisced  about.  Here are the parts which I thought was  different (I
am not positive since they were shown approximately 1 week apart):

    1.  Mother Carlson was played by a different actress.
    2.  Venus Flytrap had a mustache in the pilot while he
	had his beard in the latter episode.
    3.  Venus looked at Andy funny in the reminisced episode when
	he was introduced at Venus Flytrap--they had planned to
	have his name as Venus Rising.
        ...

Is there any WKRP fans who can verify/disprove the above?  Also,
how long did WKRP ran?  How many episodes are there?
