Where did Barney Rubble work, anyway? The only answer I've ever gotten is
"same place as Fred", but I vehemently disagree. (When they drove each other
to work, one was always dropped off while the other speeds away...they never
got out together.) My sister called Hanna Barbera (sp?), and the person she
spoke to didn't know, either.

Bonus question: What's the line in the theme song immediatly following:
"Let's ride with the family down the street."? (answer in a few days)

But I think the next line was "Courtesy of Fred's big feet".

Barney did work at the quarry for a short time. He was layed off his
regular job (I don't know what that was..) and Wilma made Fred take
Barney to see Mr. Slate. Mr. S. realized that they were related,
uncle and nephew I think, and gave Barney the job of foreman -- Fred's
boss.

I remember him being a furniture reposessor for awhile (at least one episode)
because he took away Fred's television.

Following up the question that was asked a while ago but that (apparently)
didn't get an answer, I have the lyrics to the song sung by the waitresses
(Charlie and Irving) in the episode where Fred and Barney bought the
drive-in restaurant:

Here we come on the run,
with a burger on a bun,
and a dab of cole slaw on the side.

Your taste we will tickle
with a cold dill pickle
and all our potatoes are french-fried
(fried, fried).

Our burgers can't be beat,
'cause we grind our own meat
(grind, grind, grind, grind, grind)

And when you drive away,
a tip upon our tray,
we wouldn't mind, mind, mind, mind, mind.

These lyrics were obtained by watching the episode and transcribing them
while it was going on. The only parts I'm unsure about is the 'dab' in the
third line and the entire last line.

Also, when Wilma and Betty sang the song at the night club at the end of the
show, they replaced the last verse with:
Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble
are to blame for all our trouble
<spoken> and if they think we'll forget it
<sung again> they're out of their mind, mind, mind, mind, mind

Also, Barney's weird voice was used in that episode. The end credits said
that it was Mel Blanc.

The last line of Charlie and Irving's song is

"We hope to find, find, find, find, find."

"Dab" is the right word, but I've never been able to make
out the word you claim is "cole slaw." To me it's always
sounded like "coke," but that seems unlikely.
