oz@rlgvax.UUCP (THE GREAT AND POWERFUL OZ) (02/12/86)
I have enjoyed the Michael J. Fox show for about two seasons now although I do find it to be an inconsistant show. One of the things that has annoyed me this year has been their treatment of Mr. Keaton. Dad has given us such great lines in the past as: ALEX: Dad, are you going to be mad at me for the rest of my life for this? DAD: That is my plan. In this season this ex 60's flower child is showing major jelousy, pettyness and insensitivity to his wife (the show where he wanted to watch the game rather then go to the group meeting with her). I find that they are playing games with the character simply to make a show funny, but at the expense of the character as a "believeable" person. Don't worry, I am not confusing real life with tv, and I don't expect a sitcom to read like a novel, but the BEST sitcoms (Mary Tyler Moore, M*A*S*H, etc) had characters that were for the most part consistant and that was one of the things that made them enjoyable. "that's my opinion. What's your opinion? We'd like to know." (WPIX in NYC) OZ seismo!rlgvax!oz
