I have had some experience with Nikko Amps, both fo the home and for high-fidelity touring applications. Get the Alpha 220 or 440. They are very well behaved, and quite tolerant of odd loads.<If it gets too bad, they will shut themselves off quite neatly, instead of sending out huge bursts of oscillation.> They have been not only very good sounding amps (the one in my lab is still better than .01% after having the () beaten out of it.) I have been using Nikko Alpha 440's in the place of Crown DC300's and PSA-2's, and have had very few problems. As far as the pre-amp- I would go with the Technics micro SU-?? or something like that, if it'sstill available. The NEW Nikko preamps aren't bad though. I have no experience with the tuners.
