This article is an attempt to solict a response from those on the net who
read the three newsgroups devoted to the aural pleasures: net.records,
net.music, and net.audio. For quite a long time, I have noticed that
if an article is posted to one of those three newsgroups, it often appears on
all of them! This seems like a useless duplication of effort and a further
burden as the number of groups increases. I propose the following two
alternatives:
1) Consolidation of the three groups into one.
2) Creating loose guidlines for the content of the three
groups and maintaining them as distinct entities.
Your comments are solicited. I volunteer to summarize the results and post
to the net.

Why not make a heirarchy? For example: net.audio net.audio.records net.audio.music If there are things that should go to all three, they could be posted just to net.audio. If there is a need in net.audio for separate things that don't involve records or music, another subcategory could be created, or a new word could be made up: net.foo.audio net.foo.records net.foo.music with some suitable foo.
