I'm looking for a nice casette deck with the following features: three heads, counter works in units of time, meter goes at least to -30 dB, and (of course) good sound. I would also like easy to adjust independent input level controls since I plan on using it to replace my reel-to-reel deck for live recordings. Anyone have any suggestions? I have been looking at the Aiwa AD-3800U but it's got more buttons than a jet fighter, and I'm not sure I trust the automatic tape calibration system. The Nakamichis seem way overpriced, and are not that easy to use. I like the Sony 2 head decks, but the three head decks have hard to use level controls (concentric knobs that stick together). Anyone know of any other three-head casette decks I should look at? There isn't much of a selection out here in the wilds of North Carolina. Does JVC make a 3-head? How about Onkyo? Thanks for any info. Mail and I will summarize to the net. Wm Leler, UNC - Chapel Hill
