A recent article's author asked for a way to demagnetize the heads in a car tape deck. The demagnetizer didn't reach into the narrow space. A screwdriver can be used to extend the range of the demagnetizer. Just cover the tip of the screwdriver with tape to avoid scratching the heads, and touch the exposed tip of the demagnetizer to the screwdriver.
