Just how does one figure out the exact anti-skating adjustment for one's tonearm? I have a Technics SL-D2 turntable, with a Pickering D8E cartridge. The Pickering information recommends tracking forces within 3/4g to 3/2 g. How does the anti-skating tie in? What happens if it's set too high or too low? I once read that stylus damage is caused not by too much force, but too little. The needle jumps around too much, and wears out. The same reference (it was an over-all stereo how-to put out by Audio Control) also said that the little wheel on my tonearm was far from accurate, and that I should 'invest' in some little scale to do the job (manufactured by Audio Control, I'm sure). Any comments on either of these? Thanks, Kirk Glerum ...decvax!microsoft!uw-beaver!kirkg
