I have an HK CD301 cassette deck, which has a socket on the back for a remote controller. The controller itself is sold by Nakamichi, and costs many more dollars than I really care to spend for something as simple as it is (it essentially consists of several pushbutton switches, to ground the appropriate control line, as far as I can tell from the schematic of the deck). So, I'll probably build one, except that the plug that I need to fit the socket is rather hard to find. It appears to be a DIN-type plug, but with eight contacts instead of the usual four or five. Can anyone give me any ideas on where to get the part? The pin configuration is: one in the middle, the other seven in a circle around it, spaced as if there were eight in the circle. Something like this: * * * * * * * * I've looked at Radio Shlock and a couple similar stores, as well as stereo stores. I also had no luck so far looking in electronics parts catalogs. If you can know of a place near here (BTL-IX, i.e. the western 'burbs of Chicago), or of a good place to try to mail order it from, please send me a note. Alternately, has anyone ever tried to get parts directly from Nakamichi? Anyone have an address and/or phone number for them that I could try? I would appreciate any appropriate responses mailed to me (or you can even call if you're local). (No need to post to the net, as far as I can see). Vic Mitnick BTL-IX x1621 ..ihuxk!vhm55611
